Kugler Vision Has Reopened for Vision Correction Procedures – Learn About Our Additional COVID Safety Measures

Published by Lance Kugler, MD on May 7, 2020

We are excited to announce that as of May 4, Kugler Vision has reopened its Vision Correction Suite to offer our patients vision correction procedures. To protect our patients and staff, we went on a temporary hiatus from performing elective surgeries through March and April, in accordance with state safety restrictions. Now, we’re back to help you make 2020 the year you embrace a life with crisp, clear vision. Kugler Vision is providing the world-class care and results we’re known for, while also implementing upgraded safety procedures for your protection.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenging time for everyone – members of our community and small businesses alike. Luckily, Omaha is a strong and vibrant city full of smart, caring people who are all doing their part to slow the transmission of COVID-19 and flatten the curve. Kugler Vision is proud to be part of it. For that reason, we have modified our protocols and are now offering private appointments that are minimal contact, while also offering virtual consultations (telehealth) that make connecting patients and doctors while social distancing more convenient than ever.

The Kugler Vision Difference: Just What Makes A Consultation With Us Special?

Seven years ago, Kugler Vision launched the EyeAnalysis™ technology – the most thorough diagnostic testing series available in the region. When this is combined with VisionTrack (your personalized care plan provided by our team), our doctors can achieve the most comprehensive and advanced visual analysis possible. After our doctors are able to review the diagnostic testing, the Kugler Vision experts can determine the best possible solution to correct your prescription and help you achieve crisp, clear vision without glasses or contact lenses.

We have used the last couple of months of social distancing to work on making this system even better. We have emphasized the importance of safety, privacy, and social distancing during this process. We have also limited the amount of people each of our patients come in contact with during their diagnostics evaluation.

The New Normal: An Upgraded Patient Experience With Private and Remote Consultations

Kugler Vision has spent the last couple of months preparing to reopen our doors and serve patients in a whole new way, for a minimal-contact, safe, and upgraded experience. To continue keeping patients and staff safe, we have implemented some new and exciting technology and updated the clinical and vision correction Procedure Day experience.

To streamline the process, we are now able to separate the private appointment from the diagnostic testing. Kugler Vision can now provide these services as two separate, shorter and more convenient opportunities for people who desire that level of flexibility. We will continue to offer same-day full EyeAnalysis appointments for those who prefer that arrangement as well. The improved flexibility will give patients more scheduling freedom and will allow them to conduct the private appointment session from the comfort of their home or workplace, maximizing convenience and social distancing.

Tired of glasses and contacts (especially since the AAO currently recommends you remove your contacts!), but unsure you’re ready to take the plunge by coming in for diagnostic testing? No worries! You can start to research your vision correction options by taking our simple vision correction test at the button below.

Or, you can just go ahead and schedule a brief telehealth session with our doctors to talk about your questions. Learn more about that below.

The Future Is Here: Connect With Us Via Telemedicine

Telemedicine has always been the future of patient care in 2020 and beyond, but at Kugler Vision we’re excited that we fast-tracked the implementation of telemedicine technology in order to communicate with patients virtually during the COVID-19 crisis. This has allowed for the same high levels of personalized care Kugler Vision has always offered, but with a twist, as patients were able to experience it from the comfort of their own homes. Kugler Vision is excited to be one of the first practices to adopt this form of communication in the Omaha area.

For those unable to come to Kugler Vision for diagnostic testing, we continue to offer private telemedicine appointments. In a telehealth consultation, you are connected with your Kugler Vision doctor via a confidential and HIPAA-compliant video chat. You are given dedicated time with your doctor to discuss diagnostic test results, receive a recommendation about your vision correction options, and ask all questions you may have. With Kugler Vision telemedicine, we make these promises to you: you will always be treated as a unique, important individual – never rushed through the process. Your telehealth care will be confidential, thorough, personalized, and convenient. Telemedicine appointments are available both for patients seeking vision correction, and as post-operative check-in care for our patients after their procedures.
