Part-Time Surgery Technician

Reports To: Surgery Center Administrator

Hours: Normal business hours, part-time. The current opening is for Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the possibility of adding Wednesdays in the near future.

Job Description:

The surgical technician is responsible for assisting the Surgery Center Administrator in the preparation for and support of laser vision correction procedures while promoting an environment of comfort and calm for the patient.

The ongoing goal of the practice is to provide a world-class patient experience, and a patient’s experience within the vision correction suite is critical to that mission. A friendly yet professional attitude, strong attention to detail, and commitment to rigorous standards of cleanliness and organization are fundamental requirements of this role.

No surgery experience is necessary for this role, though experience within the medical field is a plus.

Ophthalmic Technician

Reports To: Clinical Manager

Job Description: The Ophthalmic Technician, or Patient Concierge, is the first point of contact for patients and is an integral part of our practice. You are the face of the organization and a cheerful and professional demeanor is implicit. As a Kugler Vision technician, you generally see the patient before the ophthalmologist or optometrist and are responsible for preparing the patient for the exam by collecting background information and provisioning diagnostic tests and measurements.


  • Greet patients, answer the phones, and schedule appointments.
  • Gather medical records and patient information.
  • Provide exemplary patient service.
  • Perform ocular tests and measurements.
  • Maintain and clean ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
  • Assist the ophthalmologist and optometrist in basic procedures.
