Corneal inlays, like the KAMRA inlay or Raindrop, are designed to restore near vision and can free individuals from the constant frustration of reading glasses. An inlay is inserted into the first few layers of the eye, known as the cornea. While KAMRA and Raindrop use different technology, both are smaller and thinner than a contact lens, and allows you to achieve clear near vision. Corneal inlays are placed in only one eye, allowing recipients to see up close, while maintaining distance vision in both eyes.

Key Benefits

  • Provides a broader, more natural range of vision – from near to far – without blurry zones
  • Long-term solution
Candidates

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)

As we enter our 40s, we begin to experience near vision changes due to changes in our eyes’ lens and will develop the need for reading glasses and bifocals. This is a completely natural part of the aging process that happens to all of us. RLE is a procedure that replaces the dysfunctional lens with a technologically advanced lens. With one simple procedure, the prescription is corrected, it improves the yellowing, distorted lens, and prevents any future development of cataracts.

  • Helps you see both near and far
  • Reduces any astigmatism
  • Reduces dependency on reading glasses and bifocals

  • Hyperopia (farsightedness)
  • DLS Stage 1 (Presbyopia, difficulty reading)
