The RLE Procedure From Start to Finish

A Refractive Lens Exchange procedure (RLE) with the surgeons at Kugler Vision in Omaha, Nebraska takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You will receive a mild sedative to prepare you for the procedure. Numbing drops are used to ensure your comfort throughout the entire procedure.

After the procedure, your eyes may feel scratchy, and you may also experience some tearing or light sensitivity. This is normal. Your doctor will provide medications to help you manage these symptoms and to ensure a quick recovery.

It is important to make arrangements for someone to drive you home after your procedure. We see you in our office the following morning, and then most patients resume their work or normal activities at that time.
