If you could describe yourself in one word, what would that be?

Benevolent.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing card games, and exercising.

How do you recharge?

I typically recharge with quiet time: taking a quick nap, knitting, or reading a good book.

If you were to tell one person “Thank You for helping me become the person I am today”, who would it be and what did they do?

My parents, I can’t pick just one! My dad taught me the value of persistence and hard work, and my mom instilled in me the importance of empathy and compassion.

What’s the most important lesson you have learned this past year?

Losing an aunt this year has reminded me that life is short and to live each day to the fullest. Ralph Waldo Emerson said it nicely, “Write it in your heart that every day is the best day of the year.”

What movie or novel do you most identify with? Why?

Tough question; I enjoy reading and watching movies but don’t have a strong identification with any one in particular. An online quiz suggests I might best identify with Tris Prior, from the Divergent series, and everything is true on the internet, right? 🙂

When are you the happiest?

Spending time with family and friends. My ornery nieces and nephew always put a smile on my face.

What kind of impact do you believe you have on people? Why?

I do my best to have a positive impact on people. I try to leave what I am working on—a project, my home, a relationship—a bit better each day.

What one memory do you most treasure? Why?

Great question; it is tough to pick just one! One memorable moment was the day I became an aunt! I remember getting the call that my sister-in-law was in labor. I was working at the time and was lucky enough to be able to rush home to Grand Island to meet Mya. She continues to be a special part of our family, along with my two other nieces, Ava and Kinsley, and nephew, Bryant!

What superpower would you like to have and why?

To fly. I love to travel and would love to be able to visit and experience so many different places.

If you ruled the world, what would you change on Day 1? Why?

Cheese and chocolate would no longer have calories.

How do you think your coworkers see you? Why?

I hope my co-workers see me as hardworking, empathetic, flexible, and eager to learn. I want to be viewed as someone with whom people can communicate and collaborate.

If you could eat only one food on a desert island, what would it be?

Popcorn.
