Eye Care Tips For Omaha Summer Travel Trends
Published by on July 20, 2017
Did you know that Omaha, Nebraska is ranked as a top 25 U.S. staycation location? According to travel planning site Reward Expert, Omaha ranks high partly because of the many outdoor adventures we have to offer. In fact, with the American Automobile Association confirming staycations are still a popular choice for those planning vacations this year, we might recommend a day trip to the Fontenelle Forest or that you head out to Leavenworth Street for some antiquing. You could also take one of the River City History Tours hosted by The Durham Museum or even tube down the Elkhorn River! Check out our eye care tips for Omaha summer travel trends.
While we love all the outdoor adventures that Omaha offers, there is a whole big wide world to explore. We are hearing about some great trips from our patients and so we started looking into the latest travel trends. Here a couple we thought were pretty cool:
Procrastination FTW
Did you know you there are now more than 1,200 international airports supporting about 49,000 routes worldwide? This means you can be just about anywhere in the world in about 24 hours! All it takes is a few solid travel searches and maybe downloading a travel app or two and you can start packing for a whirlwind adventure in the blink of an eye. There are a surprising number of deals and discounts for those who find themselves with a bit of time on their hands and some flexibility when it comes to destination.
Eye Care Tips: Check the weather forecast before you put together your packing list. If you need glasses or contact lenses, don’t forget to include cases and supplies (especially if you are traveling outside of the U.S.). You’ll want to be able to see and enjoy everything clearly and comfortably on your trip.
Alternative Adventures
Many people are looking beyond the ordinary to a destination and itinerary that gives them intimate experiences with the location and the culture. These folks have a longing for adventure and want to participate in the activities that make the place special.
You don’t have to travel internationally to get the experience. From rural areas hosting adult summer camps replete with a swimming hole and a ghost town nearby to an elaborately tricked-out van for hitting the open road on a long excursion, there are adventures that appeal to every taste here in the U.S.
But for those with a real wanderlust, a world of adventure awaits. Surprisingly, Pinterest’s latest Travel Report showed a big uptick in interest in traveling to Iceland (we hear it is beautiful). From watching an original Bollywood production in the famed Raj Mandir Cinema in Jaipur, India to taking on one of the regional rickshaw rallies in Southeast Asia there is cool cultural fun to be had all over this great world of ours. Need more? How about the annual world travel competition, The Global Scavenger Hunt, that challenges adventure travelers to test their mettle against the world’s best?
Eye Care Tips: Check into the water quality at your destination. You don’t want to ruin a vacation with a GI bug. If you wear contacts you need a reliable source of clean water to ensure the health of your eyes.
And, if your glasses or contacts are getting in the way of your travel plans, come see us at Kugler Vision in Omaha and let’s talk about it. It might be time for you to move on to a more long-lasting and economical vision correction option like LASIK, or another laser vision correction procedure. We want you to help you live your life the way you want!
