Kugler Vision to Give Out 4000+ Free Solar Eclipse Glasses

Have you heard about the total solar eclipse on August 21? Kugler Vision in Omaha is going out into the community to provide more than 4,000 free pairs of eclipse glasses for safe viewing.
UNL Big Red Welcome Street Festival
Kugler Vision is proud to be a part of UNL’s street festival this year on Sunday, August 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Local businesses, food vendors, and student organizations line the middle of campus to showcase what they have to offer to new students. It’s a great opportunity for students to eat, mingle, and win prizes.
Kugler Vision will be there handing out free solar eclipse glasses to the first 500 people to visit our booth. Vision correction educational material will also be available. Eclipse glasses are a must to safely view the total solar eclipse the following day. We hope that all UNL students are able to safely view this rare event!
UNL Campus Student Observatory
On Sunday, August 20, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., UNL is hosting an open house atop the Memorial Stadium parking garage. The solar eclipse isn’t until the following day, but if skies are clear, the new moon should mean extra dark skies, and a rare chance to observe faint wonders such as far-off galaxies and star clusters.
In preparation for the total solar eclipse the next day, Kugler Vision is honored to attend this evening event and provide free solar eclipse glasses to the attendees of the open house at the UNL Campus Student Observatory.
Saltdog Solar Eclipse Game
The Lincoln Saltdogs, an independent, professional minor league baseball team, are playing the Gary (Indiana) South Shore RailCats at noon on the day of the eclipse, and we’re excited to partner with the Saltdogs to provide an awesome eclipse viewing experience.
The Saltdogs play their home games at Haymarket Park, located at 403 Line Dr Cir, Lincoln, NE 68508. The Saltdogs are planning for Haymarket Park to be a gathering point for the public and a venue for UNL’s Science and Engineering expo fair. Kugler Vision will be handing out more than 3,500 free eclipse glasses at the front gates of the stadium.
For about 90 seconds starting at 1:02 p.m., the sun will essentially disappear behind the moon, bringing midnight darkness, and the stars will come out. The game will enter an “Eclipse Delay” about a half hour before totality. This will allow time for fans to enjoy the displays at the fair. Both fans and players can enjoy this rare phenomenon by safely viewing the eclipse with their eclipse glasses provided by Kugler Vision.
