RLE Recovery

On the day of your Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) procedure, you will need to make arrangements for a friend or family member to drive you home. We recommend that our patients go home after the procedure to rest and relax the rest of the day.

Everyone heals differently, but many patients report vision improvement almost immediately, and resume normal activities within a day or two. Your vision will continue to improve over time as your brain adapts to your new intraocular lenses (IOL) that have replaced your natural lenses.

You can resume normal, everyday activities and return to work usually the very next day following your RLE procedure. Your vision will continue to improve for several weeks. It is important to use the prescribed eyedrops as directed for a quick recovery. You will attend standard post-op visits at Kugler Vision following your procedure at one day, one week, three months, and one year. We monitor your vision to ensure that you have achieved your vision goals and are completely satisfied with your results.
