Alex Vaughn, OD

Hello! My name is Dr. Alex Vaughn, and I am an Optometry Resident at Kugler Vision. I was born and raised in the heartland of Omaha, Nebraska and from an early age I knew I wanted to pursue a career path that allowed me to serve my community. During my undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I found myself in need of a part time job which led me to discover the world of eye care. After several years working as an ophthalmic technician and scribe, I made the decision to further my education and enrolled in optometry school at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.

From the beginning, I found a passion for the intricacies of the visual system and being able to address my patients’ needs and make an impact in their lives. During my clinical experience, I learned quickly that my patients come from all walks of life and everyone has different needs for their vision. After completion of my Optometry program, I knew I wanted to continue to academic and clinical training through residency. Kugler Vision has given me an opportunity to continue my training and help be able to provide unparalleled eye care for our patients.

Outside of clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and my 3-year-old golden retriever Hank! Also in my free time, I enjoy going to breweries, golfing, and traveling whenever I get an opportunity. I am an avid Nebraska athletics fan and moving back home I hope to attend more sporting events!
