If I could describe myself in one word, it would be “easygoing”.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are sports, treasure shopping with my friends, and gardening.
How do you recharge?
I recharge by watching a good movie.
If you were to tell one person “ Thank You” for helping me become the person I am today, who would it be and what did they do?
If I were to tell one person “Thank You” I wouldn’t be able to choose one. It would have to be both my parents because of how they raised me to treat people.
What’s the most important lesson you have learned this past year?
The most important lesson that I learned this past year was that it’s hard letting your children be on their own.
What movie or novel do you most identify with?
I identify the most with “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
When are you the happiest?
I am the happiest when I am around my family.
What kind of impact do you believe you have on people?
I hope that I have a positive impact on people.
What one memory do you most treasure?
I can’t pick just one memory. The memories that I treasure the most are when my children were born and marrying my husband!
What superpower would you like to have and why?
If I could have any superpower, it would be to see in the future.
If you ruled the world, what would you change on Day 1 and why?
I would change how people treat one another.
How do you think your coworkers see you?
I think that my coworkers see me as willing to be helpful if they need it.
If you could eat only one food on a desert island, what would it be?
Duck and dumplings would be the one food I’d love to eat on a desert island.

Dr. Kugler is one of the original founders of the Refractive Surgery Alliance, an international organization comprised of over 350 of the world’s leading vision correction surgeons; he also served as its first president. In 2019, Dr. Kugler was selected as a TEDx speaker, and delivered a talk in Omaha about the worldwide epidemic of nearsightedness and refractive solutions. Dr. Kugler is an Associate Professor of Refractive Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Truhlsen Eye Institute, has been published in many medical journals, and participates in numerous clinical studies to advance the field of vision correction surgery. Additionally, Dr. Kugler is proud to be a Board Certified Fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery & Visual Sciences. Dr. Kugler and his wife are proud parents to five active kids. When he has a spare moment, he enjoys skiing, tennis, travel, and fine coffee.
