It may feel daunting when you type in “LASIK” on your search bar and are instantly greeted with hundreds of thousands of results. But don’t worry! Make sure you stick to information from websites that end in “.org” or “.edu,” or sites that are specific to a certain practice when searching around for medical information. Avoid sites that have pop-ups, ask for your personal information more than once, or have an overload of sponsored content – it is often easy for credible information to become mixed in with opinion-based content. Sites like The American Refractive Surgery Council (ARSC) and The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) are full of useful refractive surgery information.

Reviews are essential when picking the perfect place for anything! Reading what other patients have to say about a doctor, their procedure, and overall experience adds a lot to your LASIK research. Notice if a business has thoughtful, consistent, highly rated reviews and observe if there are inconsistencies or publicly upset patient reviews. Understand That There are Seven Different Types of Vision Correction Procedures
