Recent Clinical Findings
If you are considering LASIK, you may be interested in the latest clinical research findings about the procedure. A recently published piece of research is worth noting because it reports findings from a worldwide scientific literature review of more than 4,400 peer-reviewed clinical studies–making it a very significant paper compiling a tremendous amount of data.
The good news is, the study found patients are experiencing better visual outcomes than ever before and that the procedure has improved over time. The study, entitled “Modern Laser in Situ Keratomileusis Outcomes,” was published in the July 2016 issue of the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
LASIK Proven Safe and Effective
The study confirms LASIK remains an extremely safe and effective procedure that has only gotten better with the introduction of modern equipment, advances in surgical techniques and improved patient screening protocols. As a result, the study reports a global patient satisfaction rate of more than 98 percent.
